A comparative analysis of regional purchasing power using a standardized plain omelette baseline.

One plain omelette, three eggs and butter, priced where it is served. Each price splits in two: the ingredients, and everything else, the labour, rent, and margin that turn eggs into a plate. The second part is where a country reveals itself.

So far 6,269 places across 124 countries have been found serving a plain omelette, drawn from 1,085,457 restaurants, cafés and hotels surveyed worldwide.
